Intervention Time, Part 2
Please answer the following questions about intervention time in your classroom:
How do you group your students?
What data do you use to identify skills that need to be addressed?
How do you monitor your tier two kids?
This blog is for the Kindergarten teachers at Peterson Elementary to blog about their 3rd quarter and 4th guarter Smart Goals.

We originally tried to group students in all four classrooms for differentiated instruction/tier time but,we decided because of logistics rooms, we found it to be too creepy to continue. We differentiate instruction in a variety of ways, including seating, questioning etc.
I use dibels and KPR data to form my tier groups. I use the same data and observation to identify skills to be addressed during tier time.
I do mostly small group or individual work. I use the KPR and weekly quick checks to identify skills that need to be addressed. Since all kids are tier II kids, I just try to meet their individual needs at some point each day.
