I have noticed that the 3rd quarter produced a larger gap in progress simply because of the rigor of standards. The lower students seemed like they either maintained or increased learning by a small measured compared to the high children that tended to grow academically substantially.
Once again the only gap I am noticing is the one student mentioned in previous posts. He does qualify for the ELL program, but his problem is short term memory loss due to brain surgery.
The main achievement gap that I have in my classroom gap is the afore mentioned student. He was not ready to begin kindergarten and I am focusing on social skills and basic skills such as cutting. All other students are performing on or above grade level in all areas.

The only gap I am noticing is the above mentioned student who is being re-evaluated at this time.
